Send your first campaign

Reviewed by Eran Betzalel, founder · 2026-09-30

You can send your first Boostmail email in just a few minutes: pick a template, write your copy, choose a segment, send a test, then send. The whole flow uses a drag-and-drop editor, so you never touch code, and the first 20,000 emails every 30 days are free, more than enough to get started.

Pick a starting point

Rather than designing from scratch, start from a template and customize it in the drag-and-drop editor. Swap in your logo, brand colors, product images, and a clear call-to-action button. Keep your first email simple, one offer, one button, so the message is easy to act on.

Write your copy

A strong subject line is the difference between an opened email and an ignored one. Keep it specific and honest about what’s inside, and try a couple of versions before you settle. In the body, lead with the offer, keep paragraphs short, and check that every claim, price and link is correct before sending. The email campaigns page shows what the editor can do.

Choose a focused segment

Resist the urge to email everyone on day one. Sending to an engaged segment, recent purchasers or subscribers who have opened recently, produces better results and is easier on your sender reputation. Boostmail’s segmentation uses your Shopify data, so you can target by purchase history, Shopify tags, location, products or collections purchased, and email engagement.

Test, then send

Send a test to yourself and open it on both desktop and mobile. Confirm the subject line, every link, image rendering and product details. When everything checks out, send now or schedule it for a higher-engagement time. After it goes out, the campaign report shows sends, opens, clicks and attributed revenue so you can learn what works.

Ready for more control over design and content? See create an email campaign. For the best inbox placement on every send, make sure you have authenticated your domain.

  1. 1

Start a new campaign and pick a template

From the Boostmail dashboard, create a new email campaign and choose a starting template. The drag-and-drop editor lets you adjust layout, colors, images, products and buttons without touching code.

  2. 2

Write your subject line and copy

Add a clear subject line, set the sender name and address subscribers will see, and write the body. Keep the message focused on one offer and one call to action.

  3. 3

    Choose who receives it

Select a segment instead of blasting everyone. For a first send, a focused group, recent buyers or engaged subscribers, tends to perform better and is gentler on your sender reputation.

  4. 4

    Send a test

Send a test to yourself and open it on desktop and mobile. Check the subject line, links, images and product details before going live.

  5. 5

    Send or schedule

When it looks right, send immediately or schedule it for a better time. Boostmail starts delivering and reports sends, deliveries, opens, clicks, bounces, complaints and attributed revenue so you can see how it performed.

Frequently asked questions

Should I email my whole list on the first send?
Usually not. Sending to a focused, engaged segment first produces stronger open and click rates and protects your sender reputation. You can widen your audience as you see healthy engagement.
Is there a cost to send?
The first 20,000 emails every 30 days are free, which is plenty for a first campaign. Above that you pay per 1,000 emails sent, and you are never charged per contact.
Do I need to authenticate my domain first?
Yes. Boostmail requires a verified sender domain before you send. Authenticating your own domain (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) also gives your campaigns the best chance of reaching the inbox. The domain authentication guide walks through it.
How do I know if my campaign worked?
Each campaign's report shows sent, delivered, opens, clicks, bounces, complaints and revenue, so you can compare subject lines and offers and improve your next send.
