Create an email campaign

Creating an email campaign in Boostmail means assembling it section by section in a drag-and-drop editor, no HTML required. You can start from a preset template, add product, video, QR code, social and custom HTML sections, choose who receives it, and send a test before it goes out. The editor is included on every plan, including Free.
Build the layout
Start a new campaign from the Campaigns page and pick a template, then shape it in the drag-and-drop editor. Preset templates cover moments like New Arrivals, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Flash Sale and holidays. Add sections for text, images, buttons, products from your store, video, QR codes and social links, and rearrange them by dragging. If you need something the standard sections don’t cover, a custom HTML section gives you full control.
A few design principles that improve results:
- One clear goal. Each email should drive a single primary action, shop the sale, view the new arrival, claim the code. Use one prominent button.
- Lead with value. Put the offer and the call to action high, so subscribers see it without scrolling.
- Keep it scannable. Short paragraphs, clear headings, and generous spacing beat dense blocks of text.
Write the copy
Add your subject line and the sender name and address subscribers will see, then write the body. A compelling subject line drives opens, so it is worth trying a few versions. Keep the copy accurate about prices, products and offers, and write it in your own brand voice.
Choose your recipients
Generic blasts underperform. Target a segment built from your Shopify data, like recent buyers, customers with a certain Shopify tag, shoppers in a location, people who bought a specific product or collection, or subscribers who engage with your emails. Sending relevant content to the right segment lifts engagement and protects your sender reputation.
Test before you finish
Send a test to yourself and check it on both desktop and mobile. Confirm links, images and product details render correctly. When the campaign looks right, move on to scheduling and sending. If you are sending for the very first time, the first-campaign walkthrough covers the end-to-end flow.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to know HTML to design an email?
- No. The drag-and-drop editor handles layout for you. If you do want full control over a section, you can add a custom HTML section, but most merchants never need it.
- Is there a template to start from?
- Yes. Preset campaign templates cover common moments such as New Arrivals, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Flash Sale and holidays. Pick one and adapt it to your brand.
- Will my email look right on phones?
- Most marketing emails are opened on mobile, so always check. Send a test to yourself and open it on your phone as well as on desktop before the real send.
- Can I target specific customers?
- Yes. Choose recipient segments built from your Shopify data, such as purchase history, Shopify tags, location, products or collections purchased, and email engagement.
